The Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600 incorporates cutting-edge technology to ensure precise and reliable measurements in demanding industrial environments. Thanks to its ability to measure distances of up to 160 meters without the need for reflectors, the ATS600 surpasses the limitations of conventional systems and provides high-precision results in real-time.

Manufacturers are increasingly interested in digital measurement of precise points and in the inspection of large parts and surfaces that are simply beyond the reach of a traditional handheld 3D laser scanner, tactile sensor, or reflector. The Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600 is ready to meet the challenges of these new applications with a unique working principle that can precisely locate a point in 3D space with metrological-grade accuracy without the need for a reflector at the measurement point.

Based on the renowned Wave-Form Digitiser technology behind several of the most advanced measurement tools, the ATS600 relies on the first absolute scanning distancer, a metrological-grade iteration that can locate a point with 300 microns accuracy at a distance of up to 60 meters.

By measuring a series of such points within a user-defined measurement area, the ATS600 can quickly produce a measurement grid that defines the surface to be measured. The density of that grid can also be customized, giving the operator full control over the balance between process speed and the level of detail that will feed into their metrology software.

With the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600, objects that previously required a significant investment of time to digitize or were beyond the realistic possibility of efficient measurement can be quickly incorporated into the world of 3D analysis by a single operator. With the world’s first ‘direct scanning laser tracker,’ productive quality control is poised to expand into entirely new areas of production, driven by a fundamental change in how we conceive 3D measurement.

The ATS600 also offers many of the familiar features of the rest of our Absolute Tracker range, including reflector measurement at distances of up to 80 meters, with full PowerLock capability. By combining reflector measurement and direct scanning capabilities, full functionality is provided for large-scale measurement tasks, as the scanning quickly describes surfaces and individual reflector readings are used for alignment and entity definition.

Absolute Scanning Distancer

The first absolute scanning distancer allows the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600 to precisely locate a point in a 3D coordinate space, either with or without a reflector, enabling typical laser tracker measurements of individual points along with the unique capability of digitizing a surface from a distance of up to 60 meters without a targeting signal at the measurement point.

Configurable Point Density

The point density of the measurement grid surface produced by the ATS600 is fully configurable by the user, giving the operator complete control to find the perfect balance between data quality and process speed.

Selective Scanning

With the ATS600, there are no unnecessary measurements: simply define your measurement area with the built-in wide-angle camera or by using CAD data in your software, and the system will limit its measurement process precisely to the required area—no need to deal with data from a full dome scan to obtain measurement data for a few degrees of higher quality.

Automated Measurement

With no need for a targeting signal to perform a measurement, the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600 eliminates one of the most expensive parts of a typical laser tracker system: the operator at the measurement point, making it highly suitable for automated measurement processes.

Metrology Workflow

With its metrology-specialized design, the ATS600 is fully compatible with all recognized metrology software packages, allowing it to easily adapt to established workflows and data processing standards.

PowerLock

Like all models in the Absolute Tracker line, the ATS600 includes the renowned PowerLock feature as standard when performing reflector measurements, allowing a line of sight to a targeting signal that is interrupted to be automatically re-established without user interaction.

Combined Measurement

The ATS600 is particularly powerful when performing both direct scanning and reflector measurements in a single process, such as inspecting the quality of large parts using surface scanning and a reflector for entities, or generating and adjusting procedures when scanning provides a complete overview of the assembly and reflector measurement offers a more precise positional reference.

Battery Power Supply

The expected hot-swappable battery power supply is also a typical feature of the ATS600, allowing for quick, cable-free installation in almost any location for better portability, ideal for a laser tracker clearly suited for use in large-scale sites.

WiFi Connectivity

The built-in WiFi connectivity of the ATS600 adds to the system’s impressive portability and also allows for even easier control by a single operator.

IP54 Certification

The ATS600 is a sealed unit with IP54 IEC certification, ensuring ingress protection against dust and other contaminants, enabling the laser tracker to measure effectively even in the most adverse environments.

MeteoStation

An integrated environmental monitor checks temperature, pressure, and humidity conditions, facilitating accurate measurement recording regardless of the challenges of the setup for measurements in adverse environments.

Like all our laser tracker systems, the ATS600 is built for portability, weighing less than 15 kg and capable of being transported in a single small case.

Orient to Gravity (OTG)
